Error generating ROS entitlement token
The message
Error generating ROS entitlement token
Your security software is blocking the step where FiveM confirms your Rockstar entitlement. Adding an exclusion for FiveM usually clears it.
What you see
- FiveM fails at startup with this exact message
- It often appears immediately after installing or updating security software
What usually causes it
- Antivirus software is blocking FiveM. Cfx.re documents this explicitly: certain antivirus vendors block FiveM, in their words, for unknown reasons
- A security product intercepting the Rockstar sign-in step
Worth checking first
- Note which antivirus product is installed and check its recent history or quarantine for FiveM
- Check whether the problem started after a security-software change
Safe steps, one at a time
- Add the FiveM installation folder and the FiveM application-data folder to your antivirus exclusions
- Restore anything the antivirus took from those folders, then start FiveM again
- Do NOT turn your antivirus or firewall off — an exclusion is the correct and reversible step
- If it persists with exclusions in place, Cfx.re asks for a support ticket naming the antivirus product
These are suggestions, not instructions. Do only what you are comfortable with, back up anything important first, and stop if a step does not match what is on your screen. Advice, risk and responsibility.
When to stop and ask staff
Not an AGN issue. Route to Cfx.re support with the antivirus product named.
