Rockstar Games Launcher or Social Club sign-in blocks the game

GTA V online-capable builds check in with Rockstar before they run. If that check fails, nothing AGN does can get you past it.

What you see

  • FiveM starts, the Rockstar launcher appears, and nothing further happens
  • A sign-in prompt appears repeatedly
  • GTA V single-player also fails to start

What usually causes it

  • The Rockstar Games Launcher is signed out, mid-update, or needs a manual sign-in
  • Rockstar's own services are having an outage
  • The Social Club component needs repair or reinstall
  • Two-factor or a password change has invalidated the stored session

Worth checking first

  • Try launching GTA V single-player WITHOUT FiveM — if that fails too, the problem is Rockstar-side, not FiveM or AGN
  • Check Rockstar's own service status page
  • Check whether the launcher is mid-update

Safe steps, one at a time

  • Open the Rockstar Games Launcher on its own and sign in fully before starting FiveM
  • Let any launcher update finish completely
  • If sign-in fails in the launcher itself, resolve it with Rockstar Support — AGN cannot sign in on your behalf
  • Restart the PC if the launcher process is stuck, then try again

These are suggestions, not instructions. Do only what you are comfortable with, back up anything important first, and stop if a step does not match what is on your screen. Advice, risk and responsibility.

When to stop and ask staff

Nothing to escalate to AGN unless the player can start GTA V single-player normally but only FiveM fails at the Rockstar step.

Looks like

Rockstar / Cfx.re service

What staff will need

  • Whether GTA V single-player launches
  • Exact launcher error text or screenshot
  • Time of the attempt (for cross-referencing outages)

Applies to

Independent of AGN version.
