Connection to the server times out while joining
Your PC tried to reach the AGN server and gave up waiting. That can be your connection or ours — the checks tell us which.
What you see
- The join attempt sits and then gives up
- It may work on retry, or fail consistently
- Other servers may or may not work
What usually causes it
- The player's connection is dropping packets or is being filtered
- A VPN, school/work network or restrictive router blocking the game ports
- The AGN server is restarting, full, or unreachable
- DNS is resolving the AGN address to nothing
Worth checking first
- Try another FiveM server — that single answer splits player-side from AGN-side
- Run the network checks: DNS resolution, latency, jitter, packet loss
- Check whether a VPN is active
- Check the AGN status channel for a restart
Safe steps, one at a time
- Retry once, a minute later — restarts are brief
- Turn the VPN off while testing
- Move from Wi-Fi to a cable if you can, or move closer to the router
- Restart the router if packet loss is high
- If nothing else on the network is affected and other FiveM servers work, send the report to AGN
These are suggestions, not instructions. Do only what you are comfortable with, back up anything important first, and stop if a step does not match what is on your screen. Advice, risk and responsibility.
When to stop and ask staff
Escalate when other FiveM servers connect normally and AGN does not, or when several players report the same window of failure.

What staff will need
- Whether other FiveM servers work
- Packet loss and latency results
- Time of the attempt
- Whether a VPN is in use
