Stuck downloading server content, or the download restarts repeatedly
This one is not certain. It is marked likely: the guidance is safe and reasonable, but the diagnosis is not proven for every case. If it does not match what you are seeing, stop and ask rather than pushing on.
The first time you join, FiveM downloads everything AGN streams. A stall here is usually space, connection, or one specific file.
What you see
- Progress stops at the same point, or loops
- First join to AGN, or the first join after a content update
- Other servers download normally
What usually causes it
- Connection instability during a large transfer
- Not enough disk space to store the assets
- A locked or damaged FiveM cache
- Antivirus scanning each file as it lands
- A server-side asset that is failing to serve
Worth checking first
- Check free disk space (AGN's asset set is large; first join needs room)
- Check packet loss and whether Wi-Fi signal is weak
- Note whether it always stops at the same percentage or file
- Ask whether other players joined successfully in the same period
Safe steps, one at a time
- Make sure there is at least 20 GB free, then retry
- Use a wired connection for the first join if you can
- Add the FiveM folders to antivirus exclusions, then retry
- Clear only the FiveM server cache if it stalls at the same point twice
- If it always stops at the same named file, send the report — that name identifies the asset for staff

Escalate when several players stall on the same file or the same percentage: that is our CDN or our asset, not their connection.
