Slow FXServer startup caused by Defender scanning

What you see
- The server takes far longer than expected to come up
- Startup time grew after a Windows change
What usually causes it
- Cfx.re documents it plainly: Microsoft Defender Antivirus may slow down server startup by scanning FXServer files
Worth checking first
- Compare startup time before and after the last Windows or Defender change
- Check whether an exclusion already exists for the FXServer folder
Safe steps, one at a time
- Staff only. Add the FXServer folder to Windows Defender exclusions, which Cfx.re documents with a PowerShell command
- Exclude the folder — never turn Defender off on a server
