Radio works but nobody nearby can hear me (proximity voice failure)
This one is not certain. It is marked likely: the guidance is safe and reasonable, but the diagnosis is not proven for every case. If it does not match what you are seeing, stop and ask rather than pushing on.
If your radio works, your microphone and your headset are fine. What is failing is the part of the server that decides who is close enough to hear you — that is ours to look at.
What you see
- Radio speech is transmitted and received normally
- Nearby players hear nothing when speaking without the radio
- The microphone is evidently working, because the radio proves it
What usually causes it
- Proximity range or voice-channel state on the server side
- The voice resource failed to synchronise this player's proximity target
- The player is in a state or interior that the voice resource treats as a separate channel
- A keybind conflict on the proximity talk key
Worth checking first
- Confirm the radio works (this is the whole point — it proves the microphone and device are fine)
- Ask whether OTHER nearby players can hear each other normally
- Ask where it happens: everywhere, or in a specific interior or vehicle
- Ask the player to relog once and report whether it returns
Safe steps, one at a time
- Relog once — this re-registers the player with the voice resource
- Check the proximity talk keybind has not been rebound or captured by another program
- Do NOT start reinstalling FiveM or changing audio devices: the working radio already rules those out
- Send the report to AGN — this pattern points at the voice resource, not your PC
These are suggestions, not instructions. Do only what you are comfortable with, back up anything important first, and stop if a step does not match what is on your screen. Advice, risk and responsibility.
When to stop and ask staff
Escalate every occurrence. Working radio plus failing proximity is a server-side voice-resource signal, and the player cannot fix it.
Looks like
AGN resource / QBCore
What staff will need
- Confirmation that radio works
- Whether nearby players hear each other
- Location / interior / vehicle
- Character name and rough timestamp
- Whether a relog cleared it
Applies to
Depends on the AGN voice/proximity resource in use; note its version on the case.
