Proximity voice works but the radio does not
This one is not certain. It is marked likely: the guidance is safe and reasonable, but the diagnosis is not proven for every case. If it does not match what you are seeing, stop and ask rather than pushing on.
Since people nearby can hear you, your microphone is fine. This is about the radio itself — the item, the channel, or its permissions.
What you see
- Nearby players hear you normally
- Radio transmissions are not heard, or the radio UI does not respond
What usually causes it
- No radio item, or the radio is not turned on in the item's own interface
- Not on a channel, or on a channel nobody else is on
- Job or permission gating on that channel
- The radio resource errored for this player
Worth checking first
- Confirm the player has the radio item and that it is switched on
- Confirm the channel number and that someone else is on it
- Ask whether the radio UI opens at all
- Ask for the F8 console text if any error appears
Safe steps, one at a time
- Open the radio, confirm it is on, and join a channel a colleague is already on
- Relog once if the radio UI does not respond
- Send the report with the channel number if it still fails
These are suggestions, not instructions. Do only what you are comfortable with, back up anything important first, and stop if a step does not match what is on your screen. Advice, risk and responsibility.
When to stop and ask staff
Escalate when the radio item is present and switched on, the channel is shared, and it still does not transmit.
