0xc000007b — the application was unable to start correctly
The message
The application was unable to start correctly (0xc000007b)
Windows could not load one of the shared components the game needs. It is a Windows-side problem, not a FiveM or AGN one.
What you see
- The error box appears immediately on launch
- Nothing loads at all
- Other games may show the same error
What usually causes it
- A mismatched or damaged Visual C++ / DirectX runtime
- A 32-bit library sitting where a 64-bit one is expected, often left by a mod or a cleaner tool
- Damaged system files
Worth checking first
- Check whether other games show the same error (that makes it a Windows-wide problem)
- Check that Windows Update has no pending updates
Safe steps, one at a time
- Install the current Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable (x64) from Microsoft's own download page
- Run the DirectX End-User Runtime installer from Microsoft
- Install pending Windows updates and restart
- If a mod manager or a 'DLL fixer' tool was used, undo what it did — those tools cause this error more often than they fix it
These are suggestions, not instructions. Do only what you are comfortable with, back up anything important first, and stop if a step does not match what is on your screen. Advice, risk and responsibility.
When to stop and ask staff
Never an AGN issue. Escalate only to point a player at Windows-level help.

What staff will need

- Whether other games do it
- Windows build
