FiveM crashes with a crash ID
A crash ID is FiveM's reference for what went wrong. On its own it is not enough — what you were doing when it happened is the other half.
What you see
- FiveM exits to desktop, with or without a crash window
- It may happen at a specific place, after opening a specific menu, or at random
What usually causes it
- A streamed asset or script on the server the player is on
- Graphics driver instability or overheating
- Memory exhaustion (RAM, VRAM or page file)
- An overlay or injected mod conflicting with the game
Worth checking first
- Record the crash ID exactly and note what you were doing
- Establish whether it happens only on AGN or on other FiveM servers too
- Check GPU driver version and available RAM/VRAM/disk
- List running overlays: Discord, GeForce Experience, MSI Afterburner/RivaTuner, ReShade
Safe steps, one at a time
- Note the crash ID and the exact situation — that pair is worth more than every other step here
- Close overlay software and test again
- Update the graphics driver from the GPU vendor's own site
- If it crashes ONLY on AGN, do not reinstall anything yet — send the report to AGN so staff can check the resource or asset involved
These are suggestions, not instructions. Do only what you are comfortable with, back up anything important first, and stop if a step does not match what is on your screen. Advice, risk and responsibility.
When to stop and ask staff
Escalate to AGN whenever the crash is AGN-only, reproducible at a location/MLO, or tied to opening a specific menu. Multiple players crashing the same way is an incident, not a support ticket.
Looks like
Unknown — needs staff review
What staff will need
- Crash ID
- Whether other FiveM servers crash the same way
- Location / MLO / menu involved
- GPU and driver version
- Crash frequency and rough survival time after joining
Applies to
Cross-check against recent AGN resource deploys and streamed asset changes.
