Outdated or oversized FiveM game storage
FiveM saves server files so you do not download them every time. Occasionally a saved copy goes out of date and needs clearing.
What you see
- Old or missing models and textures after an AGN update
- Very large FiveM data folder
- Errors that clear up for other players but not for this one
What usually causes it
- Cached copies of server assets that have since changed
- An interrupted asset download left partial files
Worth checking first
- Check the size of the FiveM server-cache folder (the Support Assistant reports it)
- Ask whether other players see the same thing — if only one player does, a stale cache is likely
Safe steps, one at a time
- Clear ONLY the FiveM server cache and rejoin; you will re-download AGN's assets once
- Keep at least 20 GB free so the re-download can complete
These are suggestions, not instructions. Do only what you are comfortable with, back up anything important first, and stop if a step does not match what is on your screen. Advice, risk and responsibility.
When to stop and ask staff
If several players see the same wrong asset after clearing cache, it is a server-side asset problem — escalate.
Looks like
FiveM / GTA V installation
What staff will need
- Cache size before clearing
- Whether other players are affected
Applies to
Relevant after every AGN streamed-asset deploy.
